Comcast Allows Cable Internet Subscribers to Keep AT&T Email Addresses.

Feb. 5--Moving to soothe outraged customers, Comcast Corp. said yesterday it has reached a deal with AT&T to let millions of cable broadband Internet subscribers across the United States -- including more than 200,000 in Massachusetts and New Hampshire -- keep using their attbi.com e-mail addresses through at least December 2004.

Comcast had earlier threatened to shut down attbi.com addresses as soon as May of this year. As part of its purchase of AT&T Broadband last November, Comcast is moving subscribers to comcast.net e-mail addresses.
