Fourth-Quarter Profits Jump for Westlake Village, Calif., Semiconductor Maker.

Feb. 5--WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--Semiconductor maker Diodes Inc. found itself in the chips during the fourth quarter as profits soared on the strength of its Asian operations.
During the year's final three months, the Westlake Village-based company earned $2.4 million, or 25 cents a share -- a sharp turnaround from a loss of $76,000, or 1 cent a share, in the 2001 fourth quarter.
Fourth-quarter revenues totaled $28.7 million, up 12.7 percent from the year earlier.
The Far East market, which saw increased demand from the consumer electronics sector and better sales and management capabilities throughout the region, drove sales, the company said....
