Workers at Lockheed Martin Tank Plant Fear Link to Shuttle Breakup.

Feb. 7--NEW ORLEANS--At the plant that has built fuel tanks for every space-shuttle mission, NASA's revelation that tank insulation may have nothing to do with the Columbia disaster is a bitter reminder of what happened after the Challenger explosion in 1986.

Then, investigators initially scrutinized the shuttle's giant external tank as a possible cause of the disaster, only to shift their focus later.

Longtime workers say it's happening again.

"We were blamed for the first three months," said Peter Hilkeldey, a former manager at Lockheed Martin's Michoud Assembly Facility.
