IRS Sets Minimum Bid of $300,000 for Ferrari at Orlando, Fla., Tax Auction.

Feb. 12--The IRS wants to sell a Ferrari F40 Le Mans -- one of 19 built -- so badly today that agents are as eager as any salesman working commission on a Colonial Drive car lot.
"Sweeter than chocolates and redder than roses for Valentine's Day!" reads the tax man's official pitch for one of the world's hottest race cars.
Built in 1993, the Italian-made car was seized to settle a tax bill. It will command a minimum bid of $300,000 at the 1 p.m. public auction in the courtyard of Pointe Orlando shopping complex on International Drive.
Only cash, cashier's checks or certified funds "payable to the United States Treasury" will be accepted....
