Milwaukee's Tower Automotive Says Automakers May Seek Other Suppliers.

Feb. 13--Ford and DaimlerChrysler AG may find new suppliers for work being done at Milwaukee's Tower Automotive plant, adding to the uncertainty over the future of the sprawling factory -- and the hundreds of jobs it provides.
The Tower Automotive plant on Milwaukee's north side, once the headquarters of A.O. Smith Corp., employs about 800 people today, with another 400 currently on layoff.
Workers at the factory make frames for Ford Ranger and Dodge Ram pickup trucks.
Tower executives have told local union leaders that Ford and DaimlerChrysler are both evaluating whether other suppliers can make the truck frames for less money than Tower is...
