Movie Version of Marvel Comics' 'Daredevil' Sets Record with Opening.

Feb. 18--The movie adaptation of Marvel Comics' "Daredevil" grossed an estimated $47.3 million in its first four days of release to set a new Presidents Day weekend record, rewarding 20th Century Fox's unique strategy of releasing summerlike fare in the less-competitive month of February.

"Daredevil," starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell, also scored the second-biggest February opening in history with its three-day gross of $43.5 million, second only to the record $58 million earned by "Hannibal" two years ago.
