Las Animas County, Colo., Leaders to Hear Plea for Gravel-Pit Permit.

Feb. 18--TRINIDAD, Colo.--The issue of whether to locate a second gravel pit along Cordova Pass Road in the Gulnare area west of Aguilar continues to kick up a dust storm of words.
The Las Animas County Commissioners are scheduled to again hear both sides of the pit issue before voting on MS Forest Co.'s special use permit application at today's regular meeting.
Gravel pit operator and permit applicant MS Forest owner Scott Canda said lots of misinformation is causing many Gulnare area residents to oppose another gravel pit operation.
