Loss of One Surgeon Strains Entire Dallas Emergency-Care Network.

Feb. 20--The loss of one neurosurgeon who handled trauma patients at Methodist Medical Center of Dallas is threatening to collapse the network of emergency medical care in the Dallas area, area medical officials said Wednesday.

Since November, Methodist has been shifting its patients with severe head injuries to Parkland Memorial Hospital for two weeks every month, filling up the public hospital's few intensive-care beds available in the emergency department.
