California Steel Industries Executive Resigns, Takes Job at Metals USA.

Feb. 20--FONTANA, Calif. -- C. Lourenco Goncalves, who has served as president and CEO of California Steel Industries Inc. for five years, has resigned to take the same position with Metals USA Inc. in Houston, Texas.
Goncalves' resignation becomes effective Friday; he will begin his new job Monday.
"You don't make this kind of decision lightly," the 44-year-old steel executive said. "It took me about three weeks to make up my mind and accept the job."
CSI's board of directors has named Chief Financial Officer Vicente Wright to serve as interim president and CEO until a permanent replacement can be found.
