Blame Is Unfairly Put on Seattle City Light Chief, Councilwoman Says.

Feb. 21--On the first day of hearings regarding the fate of Seattle City Light Superintendent Gary Zarker, a longtime City Council member scolded her colleagues for trying to blame him for mistakes that were, in part, the fault of elected officials.
"Fair is fair here," said City Councilwoman Margaret Pageler, launching into a tirade as council members began deliberations yesterday on whether to reconfirm Zarker.
Pageler singled out Councilwoman Heidi Wills, who became chairwoman of the council Energy and Environmental Policy Committee in 1999, for focusing on conservation and environmental programs when she should have been worried about the utility's power...
