Peoria, Ill., Area Economy Shows Decline for Fourth Quarter of 2002.

Feb. 25--PEORIA, Ill.--Although the downward trend in the local economy continued in the fourth quarter of 2002, it's not all gloom and doom, according to a quarterly report by Bradley University.
"The decline continued, which is not what you want to see," said Bernard Goitein, director of survey research at the Center for Business and Economic Research at Bradley's Foster College of Business Administration. "But the sky is not falling. We're still in pretty good shape here, not as bad as the recession of the early 90s, let alone the really bad recession of the 80s."
