Feb. 25--HOUSTON -- The board investigating the shuttle Columbia disaster announced Monday that it has assembled 22 experts to help search for a cause of the Feb. 1 accident.
The technical advisers, many of whom have been at work in Houston since shortly after the tragedy, include experts in aviation safety, launch and entry safety, systems engineering, nuclear propulsion, space technology, space debris and entry physics.
The Columbia Accident Investigation Board will call on the team to analyze information provided by NASA or to carry out their own independent studies when needed, said Laura Brown, a spokeswoman for the board.
