Networks Are Out-Foxed in February Sweeps.

Feb. 27--There's no "d'oh" about it: The network of Homer Simpson has staged a remarkable feat.

For the first time in its 16-year history, Fox has won a sweeps ratings period in the 18-to-49 demographic, the measure that drives the television business. In the long term, the February ratings could ultimately signal sweeping industry change, ushering in more frenzy for big specials like Michael Jackson interviews.

ABC programmers, meanwhile, struggled to put the best face on their fourth-place finish in the 18-to-49 measurement, behind Fox, NBC and CBS.
