Attorney General Says Arrests Show U.S. 'Winning the War on Terrorism'.

Mar. 5--WASHINGTON--Elated by the capture of the avowed mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, an upbeat Attorney General John Ashcroft told Congress on Tuesday that America "is winning the war on terrorism."
The weekend arrest in Pakistan of al-Qaeda operations chief Khalid Shaikh Mohammed struck a "severe blow" to Osama bin Laden's terrorist network and netted a wealth of intelligence that could disrupt attacks, the attorney general told the Senate Judiciary Committee.
"Today the world's premier intelligence agencies, the CIA and FBI, are moving rapidly to exploit that intelligence opportunity," he said.
