Mar. 14--The Japan-America Society of Dallas-Fort Worth will present the Sun & Star Legacy Award to Yasuhiro Nakasone at its 2003 Awards Dinner March 29 at the Westin Hotel Galleria Dallas.
Mr. Nakasone, a longtime leader of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, served as Japanese prime minister from 1982 to 1987.
Since then he has served as chairman of the Institute for International Policy Studies and president of the Asian Pacific Parliamentary Forum.
The award recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly to building closer relations between Japan and the United States.
