Merger Between Hispanic Broadcasting, Univision Hits a Bump.

Mar. 15--The $2 billion, all-stock merger between Dallas-based Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. and Univision Communications Inc. to create a Spanish-language media powerhouse has hit a snag.
At issue for the Federal Communications Commission is Univision's 27 percent stake in a third company -- Entravision Communications Corp. of Santa Monica, Calif. -- and the influence it would continue to hold in the Spanish-language broadcast market.
Entravision owns a New York newspaper and television and radio stations in cities with growing Hispanic populations such as Dallas, El Paso, McAllen and Los Angeles.
