Chicago Utility Joins States in Federal Appeal to Overrule Virginia Law.

Mar. 19--Exelon Corp., the nation's second-largest electric utility, has joined utility commissions in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio in asking federal regulators to assert their authority over a new Virginia law.
Exelon, like the three states, wants the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to immediately approve applications of American Electric Power, Commonwealth Edison and Dayton Power & Light to join PJM Interconnection. PJM operates a regional electric-transmission system in the Northeast, and Exelon is the parent company of Commonwealth Edison.
