New York-Based Grocery Chain Buys at Least Three Cape Cod, Mass., A&P Shops.

Mar. 25--A&P has sold at least three more of its Cape and islands stores, and appears well on its way to exiting the region.
The New Jersey-based grocery chain's markets in Provincetown, South Yarmouth, and Nantucket have been purchased by GU Family Markets, a New York state-based chain, according to various sources.
Last month, the chain sold its two Martha's Vineyard stores to Stop & Shop.
An A&P press release announced the sale of eight of the company's markets to GU and said the transaction "will conclude A&P's previously announced divestiture in northern New England."
