Patriotic Consumers Snap Up Yellow Ribbons as Quickly as Stores Roll Them Out.

Mar. 27--A simple yellow ribbon is the country's hottest commodity as Americans search for a symbol to show their support for military troops fighting in Iraq.
In the weeks following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. flag manufacturers were overwhelmed with orders from patriotic Americans eager to wave Old Glory.
In much the same way, customers looking for yellow ribbon have inundated retailers in the past week, scooping it up by the roll and by the yard, to wear on lapels or tie around trees.
As the war with Iraq has intensified, the nation's largest ribbon manufacturers have been flooded with requests for yellow stock. They expect sales...
