Apr. 4--BOEING EXTENDS MILITARY-DUTY PAY: Boeing Co. of Chicago, whose military unit has its headquarters in St. Louis, said Thursday that it's extending to five years its pay and other benefits to employees in the reserves and National Guard. The decision will affect about 2,000 employees, 399 of whom have been called to active duty.
Federal law requires employers to provide workers ordered to active duty with a comparable job when they return. Like many other companies, Boeing has decided to extend pay and benefits to those on active duty so they'll continue to be paid the same as though they were not in uniform.
