Downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Site to Gain 100 Blue Cross Jobs.

Apr. 5--WILKES-BARRE, Pa.--Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania plans to bring an estimated 100 new jobs into downtown Wilkes-Barre as part of its collaboration with Highmark, officials said Friday.

The jobs could be located in the now-vacant white Blue Cross building at the corner of North Main and West Union streets. That building -- unoccupied for about a year -- is now used for storage.

The insurance company plans to shift the jobs from a claims processing center in Camp Hill by April 30.

The jobs include insurance claims processing positions for the company's First Priority managed-care product, Blue Cross spokesman Gerry Snyder...
