Winter Haven, Fla.-Based Italian Eatery Chain Files for Bankruptcy Protection.

Apr. 9--WINTER HAVEN, Fla.--Once a growing star, the Floridino's restaurant chain is officially folding.

The Winter Haven-based Italian concept closed all of its locations in recent years but just last month filed a series of Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Tampa. Under Chapter 7, a company's assets are sold off and its debt discharged.

There is still at least one Floridino's Pizza and Pasta restaurant operating. That Lake Wales restaurant is owned by three private individuals and is not part of the bankruptcy filing. It will continue operating, said restaurant manager Tom Bolduc.
