Apr. 12--Contract talks at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. are going down to the wire, with 4,000 unionized workers at the company's plant in Fort Worth set to decide whether to strike Sunday night.
Pat Lane, directing-business representative of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District Lodge 776, has scheduled the vote on the company's contract offer for 2 p.m. Sunday, 10 hours before the current contract expires.
Lockheed Martin passed out literature to employees Friday saying that the plant's doors will remain open during the strike and advising non-union workers on how to handle picket lines.
