Defense Contractor Northrop Grumman to Cut 224 Jobs at Garland, Texas, Plant.

Apr. 15--Northrop Grumman Corp., the nation's third-largest military contractor, said Monday that it will eliminate about half the workforce at its Garland plant and move many of the jobs to Tempe, Ariz.

The defense contractor said it will eliminate 224 of the 451 jobs at the Garland facility, where workers build night-vision goggles and binoculars for the military, law enforcement and search-and-rescue operations.

At least 138 of the jobs are moving to the Northrop plant in Tempe, near Phoenix.
