Apr. 16--TRAMMELL CROW GROWS AS OTHERS DOWNSIZE: The name Trammell Crow has been a part of the Charlotte real estate scene since the Dallas-based company's founder and namesake opened an office here 25 years ago.
Its development expertise helped launch office parks, warehouses and skyscrapers, including uptown's second and third tallest buildings: the 46-story Hearst Tower and 42-story One Wachovia Center.
The real estate industry boomed in the 1980s, and Crow grew to become the nation's largest real estate developer.
