Japanese Online Auctioneer to Move Head Office to Same Building as Yahoo Japan.

Apr. 21--TOKYO--Rakuten Inc., a major Net auction operator, has decided to relocate its head office to a building in Tokyo's Roppongi that already houses the head office of archrival Yahoo Japan Corp., Rakuten officials said Monday.
In addition, Rakuten will move its subsidiaries Lycos Japan Inc., Infoseek Japan K.K. and other affiliates whose financial results are consolidated into its own to the new building, which is called Roppongi Hills.
The Rakuten group of companies is moving into the new venue by fall along with a combined workforce of 800. Although Roppongi Hills is to be officially launched on Friday, it already houses the facilities of Yahoo Japan.
