Collapse of Virginia Malpractice Insurer Should Concern Patients, Experts Say.

May 3--Before this year, Virginia consumers had little or no reason to ask whether their doctor had malpractice insurance. These days, it's a good idea for patients to find out if their physicians are insured against malpractice, said Judy Castleman, who directs the Virginia Quality Healthcare Network, a group working to make health care more available.
