Hardware Engineering Conference to Feature Preview of New Version of Windows.

May 5--To help the computer-hardware industry develop the PCs of tomorrow, Microsoft is prepared to provide tools, tips and a preview of upcoming software at the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference this week in New Orleans.
Highlights at the WinHEC show include the first public preview of Longhorn, the new version of Windows expected to debut in late 2004 or 2005, and a prototype PC that Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard developed to showcase hardware and software advances.
In his keynote address tomorrow, Chairman Bill Gates is expected to present a new approach to developing hardware and software, by synchronizing the development efforts in the industries....
