Thai Entertainment Group to Make Movies Direct to Disc.

May 7--RS Promotion Plc, the country's second largest entertainment group, plans to invest more than 130 million baht this year to produce 30 movies that will bypass cinemas and go straight to disc for home entertainment.
The new business, called Tele-Movie, is expected to contribute at least 150 million baht in revenue this year to RS, which is preparing to make an initial public offering of shares next week.
The first four movies will be released by the end of this month. VCDs are expected to sell for slightly over 100 baht each and DVDs close to 200 baht.
