Norfolk, Va., University to Purchase Adjacent Former Hospital for $3 Million.

Jun. 3--NORFOLK, Va.--Norfolk State University is planning to buy the former Norfolk Community Hospital with $3 million earmarked for the school by the governor, said Thomas Dawes, executive director of NSU community outreach services.
Dawes said that the city told NSU in January that the building, which is adjacent to the NSU campus, would be available for purchase. NSU said it was interested, and asked Gov. Mark R. Warner for extra funding for the purchase, Dawes said.
