Jun. 2--NIPPON SHINPAN ISSUES CREDIT CARDS WITH BRAILLE: TOKYO--Nippon Shinpan Co., a major credit card company, has started issuing credit cards with Braille added for the visually impaired, the company said Monday.
The cards are the first of their kind in Japan, and it is rare for credit card companies globally to issue cards with Braille, industry officials said.
The visually impaired say it is difficult to know whether a card is really theirs when returned after a purchase.
Nippon Shinpan will write the letters or numbers requested by the visually impaired in Braille in the bottom left section of its "Nicos" cards, just under the name of the owner, free of...
