Chicago Personal-Injury Lawyers Face Ethics Charges.

Jun. 4--Two Chicago personal injury lawyers broke rules of legal ethics by paying more than $30,000 to a funeral director and a county morgue worker who steered grieving families to their law office, the state agency that disciplines lawyers alleges.

The payoffs helped Joseph Dombrowski and Joan Sorensen recruit more than a dozen clients whose wrongful death lawsuits earned the lawyers up to $180,000 in fees, according to the state Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, which will seek ...
