U.S. Attorney in Martha Stewart Case Called Tenacious Lawyer.

Jun. 5--While U.S. Attorney James Comey is a relative newcomer to the top job in the Southern District of New York, many observers say he is a tenacious lawyer who will be a tough opponent for Martha Stewart and her attorneys.

Since graduating from the University of Chicago Law School in 1985, Comey has spent most of his career working for the government u investigating and prosecuting cases involving firearms, narcotics, fraud, corruption, terrorism and organized crime.

In 1987, he joined the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan during the years former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani headed the office, rising to become deputy chief of the Criminal Division. While...
