Texas Instruments Deal to Aid University of Texas at Dallas.

Jun. 6--Texas Instruments Inc. is planning to expand its presence in Dallas in exchange for state funding of research at the University of Texas at Dallas, House Speaker Tom Craddick said this week.
Gov. Rick Perry has targeted $50 million for the university, pulling the money from a $295 million fund used to give companies incentives to do business in Texas, Mr. Craddick said.
The governor's press secretary, Kathy Walt, cautioned that the governor has not signed the legislature's budget, though he is expected to do so. Expenditures from the Texas Enterprise Fund require the approval of the governor, the House speaker and the lieutenant governor, she said.
