JetBlue Takes a Bold Step toward Growth.

Jun. 11--Move over Southwest Airlines Co. -- there's a new low-fare darling that's grabbing the headlines.

JetBlue Airways Corp. stunned the airline industry Tuesday by ordering as many as 200 new jets from Brazilian manufacturer Embraer.

The order, valued at as much as $6 billion, represents a bold step for an airline that's just three years old, carries only a sliver of the nation's traffic and remains just a curious name to most fliers.
