Lockheed Martin Electrical Worker Settles Civil-Rights Suit against Union.

Jun. 11--A Lockheed Martin electrical worker has settled a civil-rights suit against the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers that allows him to stop financially supporting the union.
The dispute, which began three years ago, pitted Robert Beers against IAM Local 610, which represents workers at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Beers claimed that the union's stance on homosexuality and abortion conflicted with his religious beliefs and argued that he shouldn't be obligated to fund the union with his dues.
