Connecticut Transportation Agency to Keep Hartford Airport Ambassador Program.

Jun. 12--Scrambling to preserve a program that puts a friendly face on Bradley International Airport, the state Department of Transportation is creating the "Bradley Ambassadors."
The agency, which runs the state-owned airport, agreed Wednesday to take over supervision of 51 retired volunteers who staff airport information desks. It even plans to outfit the volunteers with new shirts and jackets bearing the Bradley logo, spokesman Christopher Cooper said.
"The DOT is taking over the program and will update the program," Cooper said. "There will be no break in service."
For more than 20 years, retired men and women have volunteered a few hours each...
