Florida Regulators Approve Hospital Near Boynton Beach Area.

Jun. 14--An 80-bed hospital to serve the growing area west of Boynton Beach area was approved by state regulators on Friday. The hospital, to be built by Bethesda Memorial, will have surgical facilities, an emergency room and an intensive care unit.

The hospital is expected to open in 2007 on Boynton Beach Boulevard between Florida's Turnpike and U.S. 441.

Population growth and increasingly crowded roadways make it crucial to build west, said Roger Kirk, Bethesda Memorial's executive vice president and chief operating officer. Boynton Beach Boulevard is the main road between Federal Highway and U.S. 441.
