Officials in Butler County, Ohio, Discuss Plan to Bail Out AK Steel.

Jun. 17--HAMILTON, Ohio--Butler County Commissioners Monday outlined a more concrete plan on how E-Check money could be used to help clean up and bail out the financially troubled AK Steel Corp.
"Our residents are already paying $3.5 million a year (for E-Check). All that is going up in smoke," said Commission President Michael Fox. "Let's take the money out of something that doesn't work and put it into something that does work and keeps people working."
Commissioners have for years have questioned the effectiveness of the automobile emissions testing program, which is mandated for fewer than 10 of Ohio's 88 counties.
