Jun. 19--Will Long Island be putting on the Ritz?
That's the question in the Village of North Hills, where officials say they have been approached by a Manhattan development group interested in building a Ritz-Carlton hotel and condominium units in the exclusive North Shore village.
But the hotel chain, known for luxurious lobbies, elegant atmosphere and impeccable service, may not be welcome because it could tower over the village's tallest buildings, which don't exceed four stories.
