Jun. 21--Subaru's Impreza has always been a mountain goat in disguise, able to navigate the hills of Harwinton or the barely plowed streets and parking lots of Hartford in the winter. But tack on the initials WRX, and you have a goat that is fast enough to escape the clutches of a mountain lion.

Although it appears to be relatively small, the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine produces 227 horsepower, a marvelous feat in itself. From the tiny turbo boost gauge on the steering column to the fully functioning air scoop on the hood, the 2004 WRX cries out fun and frolic.

If you wanted even more power, the WRX STi has 300 horsepower from a 2.5-liter...
