Thai Vendors Continue to Sell Counterfeit VCDs, CDs, DVDs at Certified Outlets.

Jun. 23--Vendors are beating the system and fooling consumers by offering pirated products -- VCDs, CDs and DVDs -- through their licensed outlets.
As part of its crackdown on rampant piracy, the Commerce Ministry re...uires vendors of music CDs to obtain licences from the Business Development Department, certifying them as vendors who sell only legal goods.
Those selling optical discs, including movie VCDs and DVDs, must obtain similar permission from the Interior Ministry.
But despite this, a number of CD vendors along Khao San Road, the famed haven for backpackers, boldly display the licences in front of their outlets and sell counterfeit...
