Japanese Telecommunications Giant, Italian Firm Agree on Mobile-Phone Alliance.

Jun. 26--ROME--NTT DoCoMo Inc. and Italy's third-largest mobile phone operator, Wind Telecomunicazioni SpA, said Wednesday they have reached a license agreement on the Japanese wireless firm's i-mode mobile Internet access service.
Under the agreement, NTT DoCoMo will license Wind Telecomunicazioni to use patent, know-how and technology necessary for the Italian firm to offer the i-mode service in Italy, the companies said.
With the five-year license starting this month, the Rome-based firm will start offering the service at the end of this year, they said.
