Japan Tobacco Inc. Sets Up Caravan Trailer for Tokyo Smokers.

Jun. 26--TOKYO--Heavy-smoking office workers Tokyo, already stressed out by fears of losing their jobs to restructuring and now under pressure from antismoking moves, are finding refuge in a caravan trailer parked on a street in the Otemachi business district.

The U.S.-made silver-colored trailer is comfortably furnished as a lounge and has a big deodorizing machine installed to take away the smell of cigarettes. Remodeling it into a luxurious saloon cost some 10 million yen.

The trailer home was set up and named "Smoker" by Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT), the country's tobacco monopoly, in January after some wards in Tokyo passed ordinances against smoking on the streets and...
