Key Files Purged at Boston-Based Triumph Capital Group, FBI Expert Testifies.

Jun. 26--NEW HAVEN, Conn.--A computer expert testified Wednesday that someone at the Triumph Capital Group installed a file-erasing program called Destroy-It on a company computer and purged files pertaining to former state Treasurer Paul J. Silvester -- within weeks of learning that the firm was the target of an FBI investigation.

Special Agent Jeff A. Rovelli, a member of the FBI's Computer Analysis Response Team, said Triumph computer records showed that a computer file ascribed to Triumph vice president and general counsel Charles B. Spadoni contained a "Silvester directory" on May 18, 1999.
