Former TWA Flight Attendants' Furlough Delay Re...uest Denied; Layoffs Proceed.

Jul. 1--A federal judge in New York on Monday denied former Trans World Airlines flight attendants' re...uest to delay their furloughs, clearing the way for American Airlines to lay off more than 3,100 flight attendants, including all the ones based at Lambert Field.

The flight attendants today will turn in their identification badges, airport facility keys and emergency manuals. And as of 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, no former TWA flight attendant will work for the airline, which is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
