Massachusetts Senate Votes for Panel on Wind Energy.

Jul. 11--The contentious proposal to build a wind farm on Nantucket Sound yesterday blew onto the floor of the state Senate, which voted to create a commission to study wind energy -- a move that wind farm supporters called a stalling tactic.
The Legislature has no regulatory power over the project, but the commission would advise the governor and study the potential impact of wind energy projects in Massachusetts.
"What we're saying is these things are going to be popping up possibly everywhere," said Senator Robert O'Leary of Barnstable, who cosponsored the bill with fellow Democrat, Representative Eric Turkington of Falmouth.
