Raytheon to Outsource Plastics Division, Cut 64 Jobs in Salina, Kan.

Jul. 17--Raytheon Aircraft Co. announced Wednesday it was eliminating 64 jobs in Salina by outsourcing its plastics division.
Following a six-month process, Raytheon has chosen the Tulsa, Okla.-based NORDAM group to make plastic parts for aircraft interiors, such as glare shields and radomes, the nose cones of aircraft, for the Beechcraft and Hawker product lines.
The move will leave fewer than 300 Raytheon jobs at the Salina plant, but none of the remaining employees are secure, said Tim Travis, Raytheon manager of media relations.
