PC Maker eMachines Expects $1 Billion in Sales, Gains on Hewlett-Packard.

Jul. 15--IRVINE, Calif.--Emachines Inc., often labeled "struggling" by analysts in its early days, is on track to reach $1 billion in revenues this year.

That's a 20 percent improvement over last year, said Adam Anderson, the company's chief operating officer.

The company finished another profitable ...uarter -- its seventh since returning to private ownership in late 2001.

"We're not a huge company making hundreds of millions, but we're making tens of millions," said Anderson, when asked about ...uarterly income. "We've developed a business model that works extremely well in a budget-conscious time."
