Jul. 18--ADVO Inc., a direct mail marketing firm in Windsor, reported increases in fiscal third-...uarter earnings and sales as the company managed to contain costs and boost advertising revenues.
On revenues of $289.7 million, ADVO earned $13.6 million, or 68 cents a share, in the ...uarter ended June 28. ADVO stock fell $1.28 Thursday to end the day at $43.32, although earnings came out after the market closed.
During the same three-month period in 2002, ADVO earned $10.1 million, or 50 cents a share, on revenues of $280.9 million. The 2002 fiscal third-...uarter results included a 13 cents a share charge from expenditures on the company's marketing operations.
